Dr. Jay Wortman
Canadian Low-Carb Practitioner/Researcher
If you haven't heard of Dr. Jay Wortman yet, then you're in for a huge, hilarious treat! This Canadian medical doctor discovered low-carb living when he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and needed a nutritional approach that would control his blood sugar and insulin levels. Now he's so super-passionate about helping the First Nations aboriginal people as their Senior Medical Advisor that he engaged in a two-year weight loss and health study putting them back on the traditional low-carb, high-fat diet of their ancestors. The results of that research were featured in a documentary film entitled My Big Fat Diet.

Listen to Dr. Jay Wortman in Episode 137 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Dietitian Cassie Bjork
Registered Dietitian, Co-Host 'Low-Carb Conversations'
Dietitian Cassie is one of the leading Registered Dietitians in the low-carb/Paleo/real food movement. She is set apart from her fellow RD's because she doesn't teach the high-carb, low-fat conventional nutritional wisdom that she learned from her textbooks. Instead, she bases what she tells her clients on evidence-based research conducted by scientists, not the propaganda coming from food companies and pharmaceutical drug manufacturers.

Cassie is super-passionate about helping others get fit and eat healthy by exposing people to healthy, low-carb nutrition. She helps her clients establish a healthy relationship with food and their bodies explaining to them how to eat balanced real whole foods as a lifestyle and not just some quick-fix fad diet.

When she's not coaching clients or teaching nutrition classes, Cassie enjoys running in marathons and as Jimmy Moore's co-host of "Low Carb Conversations with Jimmy Moore & Friends!" Follow Dietitian Cassie at DietitianCassie.com.
Dr. Dwight Lundell
Heart Surgeon Who Shares What Really Causes Heart Disease
In March 2012, a column was published online at a web site called Sign Of The Times entitled "Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease." That catapulted a low-carb supporting cardiologist named Dr. Dwight Lundell into national attention lambasting the folly of the low-fat, high-carb diet in support of the alternative hypothesis of a low-carb, high-fat diet instead to truly improve cardiovascular health. Dr. Lundell's experience in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery over the last 25 years includes certification by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Listen to Dr. Dwight Lundell in Episode 280 and Episode 571 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt
The Diet Doctor Leading The LCHF Revolution In Sweden
The low-carb resurgence that is happening in recent years isn't just limited to the United States. In the European nation of Sweden, there is an explosion of popularity for a concept there called LCFH (low-carb, high-fat). One of the leaders of this Swedish LCHF revolution is a family physician named Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt, aka the "Diet Doctor". We've been delighted to have Dr. Eenfeldt be a featured guest speaker on the Low-Carb Cruise over the past three years (watch his 2012 Low-Carb Cruise lecture). In 2013, he will be joining us again along with various other of the top Swedish LCHF leaders to give an update on what's happening there as an inspiration to the rest of the world.

Listen to Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt in Episode 494 and Episode 525 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Jackie Eberstein
Registered Nurse Who Worked With Dr. Atkins Paying Tribute To Him
The only guest speaker who has attended every Low-Carb Cruise since we started doing a conference in 2008 and has a standing invitation to speak annually for as long as she wants to is registered nurse Jackie Eberstein from "Controlled Carbohydrate Nutrition" (watch the video of Jackie's 2012 Low-Carb Cruise Lecture). She had the great privilege of working with the late, great Dr. Robert C. Atkins for three decades before his untimely death following a slip and fall accident on an icy sidewalk in New York City on April 17, 2003. To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Dr. Atkins' death, Jackie will be leading a tribute on the 2013 Low-Carb Cruise to the man who helped popularize low-carb diets in the mainstream by featuring physicians and researchers who are still being impacted by his work one decade later.

Listen to Jackie Eberstein take on the topic Weight Loss Obstacles in Episode 1 of "Ask The Low-Carb Experts" as well as Episode 152, Episode 153 and Episode 389 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Dr. Jayson & Mira Calton
Micronutrient Specialists And Low-Carb Nutrition Advocates
Micronutrient deficiency experts Dr. Jayson and Mira Calton joined us as attendees on the 2012 Low-Carb Cruise and made such an impression that we had to invite them to be guest speakers on the 2013 cruise. With all the talk in recent years about how much fat, protein and carbohydrate people should be consuming in their diet for optimal health, this health power couple comes along to throw a big monkey wrench into the equation talking about micronutrients. They shared about that in their incredible 2012 book Naked Calories: How Micronutrients Can Maximize Weight Loss, Prevent Disease and Enhance Your Life (listen to them in Episode 530 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show").

In February 2013, they released their long-awaited food shopping guide Rich Food Poor Food: The Ultimate Grocery Purchasing System (GPS) which you can hear them talk about in Episode 34 of the "Ask The Low-Carb Experts" podcast. We are excited to hear more about this incredible new book and other projects The Caltons are working on during their 2013 Low-Carb Cruise.
Dave Asprey
The Bulletproof Executive And Creator Of Bulletproof Coffee
Health blogger, entrepreneur and personal biohacker Dave Asprey is one of the more interesting guest speakers who will be joining us on the 2013 Low-Carb Cruise. You've probably already heard about Dave but you probably know him better as the man behind "Bulletproof Coffee" which uses butter to create a powerful morning cup of joe. Dave spent $250,000 on various experiments and tests on his own body over a 15-year period and his conclusions about health seem to trump much of what conventional wisdom says is supposed to happen. He lost over 100 pounds consuming 4500 calories a day and no exercise (imploring the principles of healthy low-carb Paleo living, by the way!). He along with Armi Legge have a popular and engaging iTunes podcast called Upgraded Self Radio.

Listen to Dave Asprey in Episode 569 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Jonathan Bailor
Nutritional And Weight Loss Science Expert
Health and fitness researcher Jonathan Bailor is an exciting guest speaker joining us on the 2013 Low-Carb Cruise. What would happen if someone decided to immerse themselves completely into the scientific research that has been conducted on diet, nutrition and health in an effort to glean the most relevant facts about fat loss without the marketing hype that tends to dominate conventional thinking in our culture? Well, that's exactly what Jonathan did where he discovered some rather unconventional truths that make up the contents of his book The Smarter Science Of Slim: What the Actual Experts Have Proven About Weight Loss, Dieting, & Exercise, Plus, The Harvard Medical School Endorsed Program To Burn Fat Permanently. This book is turning the heads of prominent medical professionals, athletes and health researchers alike and we're happy to have Jonathan joining us on the Low-Carb Cruise. And don't miss hearing his new "Smarter Science of Slim" podcast.

Listen to Jonathan Bailor in Episode 570 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
Tom Naughton
Official Roast Master For The Low-Carb Cruise
What can you say about Tom Naughton (the man behind the hit documentary film FAT HEAD) that hasn't already been said before? The man is absolutely hilarious and has become a bona fide staple on the annual Low-Carb Cruise. From his annual tradition of singing "Elvira" with Jimmy Moore to delivering his "Science For Smart People" lecture in 2011, he's definitely one of the low-carb rock stars at this annual event. Beginning with the 2012 Low-Carb Cruise, Jimmy asked Tom to be the official roast master of the guest speakers and he did a spectacular job: WATCH IT NOW!

So why wouldn't we have Tom do it all again with these amazing guest speakers on the 2013 Low-Carb Cruise? And we will--don't you dare miss this! Listen to Tom Naughton in Episode 2 of "Low-Carb Conversations" as well as Episode 226 and Episode 600 of "The Livin' La Vida Low-Carb Show."
